Namaste 👋 I'm Shankar Shrestha — a UI/UX & Product Designer from Kathmandu. I craft SaaS, AI, enterprise & GIS products that make complexity feel beautifully simple.
A designer who ships, not just decorates
00 / AboutI'm Shankar, a UI/UX and product designer in Kathmandu. For about four years my job has basically come down to one thing: take something messy and confusing, and turn it into a screen that just makes sense. I've done that for AI products, enterprise tools, GIS platforms, and the design systems that keep busy teams on the same page.
Honestly, the early chaos is my favourite part — when nobody's sure what the thing should even be yet. I sketch and prototype to think it through, sit next to the engineers instead of tossing files over a wall, and actually read the research instead of nodding at it. And if I add motion, it's to make something clearer — not to look flashy.
What I design, from first idea to shipped product
01 / CapabilitiesProduct & Web Design
End-to-end interfaces for web apps and marketing sites — from the first storyboard to a build-ready, responsive design that engineers can ship.
A few problems worth solving
Every project here started as a mess of requirements and got shipped as something people actually use.
S/NHow I turn noise into signal
The method stays the same every time — start inside the mess, and keep removing until only the signal is left. Four moves, always in order.
Listen
I sit inside the noise first — research, edge cases, and the constraints nobody wants to name out loud.
Reduce
Then I take things away. Everything that isn't the point goes, until one clear problem is left standing.
Systemize
I turn that answer into patterns, tokens and rules other people can build on and trust.
Refine
Finally I prototype, test and tune the details — until using it feels obvious, and a little effortless.
Four years, four teams
04 / ExperienceDesigned responsive web and mobile interfaces and data-driven GIS map layouts. Built branding guidelines and reusable templates to keep multi-page outputs consistent and accessible.
Owned interfaces for AI web products end to end — storyboards, wireframes, prototypes and the full user journey. Partnered daily with graphic, motion and engineering to ship interactive, device-ready UI.
Improved UX across legacy and modern software with research-validated wireframes and storyboards. Worked deep in design systems, web accessibility and color contrast — data over opinion.
Where it started. Low- and high-fidelity wireframes on a Bootstrap grid system, learning design systems and color rules while designing an attendance-management platform.
Let's build something
worth remembering.
I'm open to product design roles and a handful of select collaborations. If you're building something ambitious — especially the kind of problem nobody has fully cracked yet — that's exactly where I do my best work. Drop me a line and let's talk.
